Proposed Local Laws by the Guilderland Town Board and GCRG Position Statements

Below are currently proposed laws that the Town of Guilderland is considering.

As we understand it, the Town of Guilderland is waiting for changes to New York State law before this proposed law can be enacted.

Status: Proposed, Official Name: Local Law (Solar Facility Amendments)(pending)

At the Town Board Meeting on February 4, 2020, the Town Supervisor, Peter Barber, introduced an amendment to the town's zoning code §280-40(U) Solar Energy System to enhance protection of the town and its residents from the potential harm that could come from the siting and decommissioning of large industrial solar arrays (a.k.a. solar farms).
