GCRG 1st Public Forum -
Guilderland Town Planner outlines and takes questions
on the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR)
and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Process

On Tuesday, November 26th, 2019, the GCRG hosted our first public forum at the Guilderland Public Library.  It was our intention that this forum might help us build a more open dialog with the Town of Guilderland so they better understand our concerns and we understand their positions on current and future development.

During the first half hour of this public forum the Guilderland Town Planner, Ken Kovalchik, explained the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) process for creating Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), particularly as to how it applies to the Pyramid development on Rapp Road.  Click here for more information about the development on Rapp Road.

For the remainder of the forum he took questions from the members of the audience.

We were also going to have him also speak about the Smart Growth Principles from Smart Growth America which the Town Planner promotes, but due to the number of questions the attending audience had about the SEQR process, we ran out of time. That part of the forum may be done a future event.

Thanks to everyone who attended, including Guilderland Town Supervisor Peter Barber, and we hope to do more of these types of events in the future.
